Regions outside the southwest: 264,037,050 leva

Maximum project implementation period: 15 months

Providing focused support to Bulgarian enterprises for the implementation of product innovations or business process innovations in the thematic areas of ISIS 2021-2027:

  • Informatics and ICT

  • Mechatronics and microelectronics

  • Healthy living, bioeconomy and biotechnology industries

  • New technologies in creative and recreational industries

  • Clean technologies, circular and low-carbon economy

Eligible candidates

1. Traders under the Commerce Act or the Cooperatives Act. Must have been registered before 31.12.2020.

2. Eligible categories:

  • SMEs (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises)

  • Small mid-cap companies (up to 499 employees).

3. Have realized net sales revenue for 2022:

  • Micro enterprise ≥ 100,000 BGN.

  • Small enterprise ≥ 300,000 BGN.

  • Medium-sized enterprise ≥ 1,000,000 BGN

  • Small company with average market capitalization ≥ BGN 2,000,000.

4. All sectors of economic activity, except those that are ineligible.

Amount of funding

1. Financing amount from BGN 50,000 to:

  • Micro and Small Enterprises up to BGN 500,000

  • Medium-sized enterprises and Small companies with an average market capitalization of up to BGN 800,000.

2. The maximum amount of aid shall not exceed:

  • Micro enterprises: 100% of the sum of net sales revenue for 2020, 2021 and 2022, divided by 3.

  • Small businesses: 60% of the sum of net sales revenue for 2020, 2021 and 2022, divided by 3.

  • Medium-sized enterprises and Small Mid-Caps: 25% of the sum of net sales revenue for 2020, 2021 and 2022, divided by 3.

3. Maximum aid intensity (%) outside the SWC:

  • Micro and Small Enterprises: 50%

  • Medium-sized enterprises and Small mid-cap companies: 45%

4. Maximum aid intensity (%) in the South-West Region :

  • Micro and Small Enterprises: Sofia city (capital): 40%; Sofia region: 45%; Blagoevgrad region: 45%; Pernik region: 40%; Kyustendil region: 45%.

  • Medium-sized enterprises: Sofia city (capital): 30%; Sofia region: 45%; Blagoevgrad region: 45%; Pernik region: 30%; Kyustendil region: 35%.

  • Small companies with mid-market capitalization: Sofia city (capital): 20%; Sofia region: 45%; Blagoevgrad region: 45%; Pernik region: 20%; Kyustendil region: 25%.

5. Maximum aid intensity under the "de Minimis" regime for all categories: 50%.

Eligible costs

1. Costs for acquiring fixed assets – machinery, facilities and equipment necessary for implementing the innovation.

2. Costs for acquiring DNA - specialized software (incl. development), patents, licenses, "know-how", etc., necessary for implementing the innovation - up to 400,000 leva.

3. Costs for application and registration fees before the relevant competent authority - up to 10,000 BGN.

4. Costs for consulting services related to the protection of industrial property on the implemented innovation - up to 10,000 leva.

5. Costs for support services in support of the implemented innovation (should not exceed 25% of the total eligible project costs):

  • costs for fees for access to databases and libraries - up to 30,000 leva.

  • costs for external services related to the provision of services from laboratories for conducting research, measurements, tests, etc.
